Presidents of the Nawroz University and The Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin signed cooperation agreement.

The president of UMCS University in Lublin professor Radosław Dobrowolski hosted at the university president of Nawroz University professor Abdulwahab Khalid Mosa who was accompanied by KRG representative in Poland Ziyad Raoof.
The meeting started with a ceremony of signature cooperation agreement. Both universities have been preparing for that for months. The agreement concerns scientific and research cooperation between faculties of computer sciences, political sciences, economy and finance. Both universities also expressed intent to conduct academic staff exchange and student exchange with the frame of the Erasmus + program. After signing the agreements, the two presidents discussed future plans for cooperation and joint projects. Later UMCS authorities presented university buildings and international students center
Two presidents thanked the KRG representative for intermediation in contacts between universities. Ziyad Raoof visited UMCS university twice and encouraged UMCS president to establish cooperation with universities from Kurdistan Region. In view of the interest in cooperation, KRG representative arranged direct contact with the University of Nawroz, which was looking for the first university in Poland to establish cooperation. Correspondence conducted by university representatives led to the preparation of the agreement and a personal meeting.
