Meeting about development of cultural cooperation between Kurdistan Region and the city of Krakow

Ziyad Raoof KRG Representative in Poland had a meeting with Robert Piaskowski who is special representative of the President of Krakow for cultural cooperation with international organizations.

During the meeting, the participants discussed the possibilities of further intensifying Kurdish cultural activity lasting for almost three decades in the city of Krakow. Krakow authorities, strongly emphasizing the city’s multicultural heritage, are eager to promote Kurdish art. This is part of the recently undertaken strategy for promoting the city in the Middle East.

Among the possible ways to intensify contacts, there were mentioned: scholarship programs, cooperation of theaters and music bands.

Ziyad Raoof and Robert Piaskowski talked also about the exchange of experience in managing the cultural sector and expert cooperation on the basis of the Organization of World Heritage Cities, which includes both Erbil and Krakow.

Participants of the meeting declared maintaining contacts.
